I Am the Title

We live surrounded by noise.

Relationships, dependencies, problems, social media, war, politics, economics — an endless stream of images, information, expectations, and voices competing for our attention. They are part of our reality, shaping our days and, often without us noticing, shaping the way we see ourselves.

And yet, there are moments when we need distance.

Not an escape from the world, but a step back from it. A brief pause in which the noise recedes and something quieter becomes perceptible: the self.

This series emerges from these moments.

From the space between the outside world and the inner world. From those brief instances in which we stop responding to everything around us and begin to encounter ourselves again.

The figures in my works inhabit this space.

They are not portraits in the traditional sense. The face and the body become vessels for something less tangible — an emotion, a tension, a memory, a state of being. Through an expressionist visual language, I allow forms to shift, lines to break, and colours to move beyond the boundaries of physical reality.

The line does not have to describe. It can hesitate, disappear, return. It can remain unfinished.

Because the inner world is never completely defined.

It changes. It contradicts itself. It remains in motion.

Colour, too, follows feeling rather than reality. At times it becomes quiet and restrained; at others, it collides, vibrates, or creates a sense of unease. Nothing is required to remain as it appears on the surface.

The gaze, the posture, the hands, and the silence of the figures become traces of an inner state — fragments through which something invisible begins to take form.

I am interested in this threshold: the moment when what is outside becomes distant enough for what is inside to become visible.

Perhaps this distance lasts only a few seconds.

Perhaps it is nothing more than a breath.

But within that small space, something changes.

For a moment, there is no need to perform, to explain, or to become someone else.

There is only the quiet awareness of being.

A moment of distance.

A moment of presence.

A moment in which I am the title.
